American convoys under the protection of Blackwater USA resumed four days after the U.S. Embassy suspended all land travel by its diplomats and other civilian officials in response to the alleged killing of civilians by the security firm.

After a convoy of U.S. diplomats was ambushed in Baghdad, Blackwater mercenaries 'allegedly' recklessly opened fire, killing a number of Iraqi civilians.

After this scandal, Iraqi officials decided to prohibit Blackwater from conducting activities in the country and called for the mercenaries to be tried in Iraq.

But sources say Blackwater mercenaries in Iraq were not responding to "militants" when they killed Iraqi motorists a few days ago. "A preliminary Iraqi report on a shooting involving an American diplomatic motorcade said Tuesday that Blackwater security guards were not ambushed, as the company reported, but instead fired at a car when it did not heed a policeman's call to stop, killing a couple and their infant," reports the New York Times. "The report, by the Ministry of Interior, was presented to the Iraqi cabinet and, though unverified, seemed to contradict an account offered by Blackwater USA that the guards were responding to gunfire by militants. The report said Blackwater helicopters had also fired.

But just like in the Haditha and Abu Ghraib scandals, it seems that there will be no trials in Iraq and the security company has resumed its activities in the war-torn country.

And now Blackwater has been accused of gunrunning in Iraq.

A company source acknowledged that two Blackwater employees were fired for buying guns with Blackwater money and selling them without the consent or knowledge of the company, but did not say where the arms were bought and sold.

The U.S. attorney's office in Raleigh, North Carolina is currently investigating individual Blackwater employees -- not the company -- for illegal weapons deals.

Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and others appeared before a congressional hearing on August 1st to testify about claims military brass disguised the fact that Tillman was "accidentally" shot by fellow US soldiers in Afghanistan in 2004.

According to Barbara Starr,
CNN's Pentagon Correspondent,
Absent from the congressional hearings was Lt. Gen. Stanley McChrystal, in charge of the most secretive force in the U.S. military...the black ops,if you will.The General was "somewhat implicated" for knowledge of the fragging, but due to his covert status, he is apparently immune from having to testify any further before an open committee regarding the matter.
The secrecy surrounding McChrystal's role worries some who note that Bush and former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld have given clandestine operations the lead in the war on terror—with little public accountability.

JSOC,or the Joint Special Operations Command, could be part of what Vice President Dick Cheney was referring to when he said America would have to "work the dark side" after 9/11.
Rumsfeld was said to be especially enamored of McChrystal's "direct action" forces or so-called SMUs—Special Mission Units—whose job is to kill or capture bad guys, say Pentagon sources who would speak about Special Ops only if they were not identified.
In a letter dated June 25, 2002, Rumsfeld wrote: "(Tillman) sounds like he is world-class. We might want to keep our eye on him."

Lt. Gen. Stanley McChrystal was one of the first to learn that Tillman was killed by friendly fire.
In a document dated April 2004, McChrystal wrote that Tillman's death, though heroic, was likely due to fratricide.
He advised President Bush and other leaders against making any potential speeches on Tillman's death "... in order to preclude any unknowing statements by our country's leaders which might cause public embarrassment if the circumstances of Cpl. Tillman's death become public."

McChrystal wrote that he was concerned that the President and others may have been preparing to make statements regarding Tillman's winning of the Silver Star, which is the third-highest military award for valor.

The US Army first said that Tillman had died a hero's death while fighting Taliban insurgents. Five weeks later, the Pentagon admitted that he had been killed in a "friendly fire" incident by fellow US troops.

The ex-Arizona Cardinals National Football League star gave up a lucrative professional contract after the September 11 attacks of 2001 to join the army, and his death became a symbol of American sacrifice in the 'war on terror.'

If Tillman had lived,he might have
been an even greater icon
in the fight to end the war.
It is my opinion that the man who may know more about this situation than anyone was given a free pass, and thus the hearings were a total whitewash.

On March 19 at 9:34 p.m.—two days after demanding that Saddam Hussein and his sons Uday and Qusay surrender and leave Iraq within 48 hours—the U.S.-led coalition begins bombing Baghdad. Strikes are first made against "targets of opportunity" on the outskirts of Baghdad. In his address to the nation at 10:16 p.m. e.s.t., President Bush outlines the purpose of invading Iraq: "to disarm Iraq, to free its people, and to defend the world from grave danger." David Reutimann Tribute - Race 2 California

Although Matt Kenseth won the 2nd Race of the year, I'm going with David Reutimann's wreck as my tribute for this race.
I'm positive Matt will win another race this year, so I'll make a Kenseth tribute later....
David Reutimann was dazed and confused when he woke up from the hardest hit of his career at California Speedway, but the rookie driver insisted he was OK.

"I am fine," said Reutimann, who spent over a half-hour in the infield medical center. "NASCAR just likes to triple-check, so that is what we had going on."

Reutimann was hit from behind by Greg Biffle with 8 laps left, sending him hard into the Turn 3 wall much like Dale Earnhardt's fatal crash of 2001. His No. 00 Toyota was so badly damaged it took his crew an hour to repair it sufficiently enough to load onto the transporter.

"I don't know. Somebody got into us, and I thought I was low, and I can't say for sure what exactly happened," Reutimann said. "All I know is the end result. Thank the Lord I am OK and no one else was in it."

A man infected with an especially virulent strain of tuberculosis has spent eight months in a hospital jail ward under a court order and may be held until he dies.
Robert Daniels has not been charged with a crime, but the 27-year-old violated the rules of a voluntary quarantine, exposing others to a potentially deadly illness. Maricopa County public health officials got a court order to keep him locked up.
The TB strain Daniels has is so dangerous that he has never met his appointed lawyer, Robert Blecher, who describes the situation as "extremely unusual."
Daniels' hospital room is designed so that air flows in, never out, to prevent the bacterium from spreading.
Daniels, who has dual citizenship in the U.S. and Russia, contracted "extreme multidrug resistant tuberculosis" while living in Russia, court records show.
He was diagnosed two years ago in Russia, and said he came to Phoenix in January 2006 after being told drugs were hard to get and expensive.
Daniels went to a Phoenix hospital with respiratory problems in July 2006, and was sent to a Phoenix halfway house for indigent TB patients under a voluntary quarantine. He was ordered to continue treatment and wear a mask when he went out in public because the disease is spread by airborne contact.
Daniels stopped taking his medication and went unmasked to a restaurant, a convenience market and other stores, court records stated.
Robert England, Maricopa County's tuberculosis control officer, said in court filings that Daniels understands the rules, but "merely refuses to follow them."
England applied for and received a "compulsory detention" order for Daniels, a legal tool used about once a year in Arizona.
Daniels, who has a wife and child in Russia, said in a telephone interview with The Arizona Republic that he didn't want to confuse people by wearing a mask and that doctors at Russian clinics where he was treated didn't even wear masks.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported there were 14,097 cases of TB in the United States last year. Just 15 were of the rare strain Daniels has. Prospects for his release are unclear. A 2006 medical assessment indicated the disease was mutating in Daniels.

Mainstream media twists Blair's speech into an attack on LiveLeak and internet media.

Today, The Independent published a story touching on Tony Blair's speech released yesterday. In the speech, Mr Blair mentioned LiveLeak and the effect video sharing sites would have on the relationship between government, armed forces, and the public. The Independent put a different slant on this- they insinuated Mr Blair singled out LiveLeak as a site used for terrorist propaganda to undermine public opinion.

Here is the excerpt from the speech :

During the first Gulf war, the media had restricted access and we were mesmerised by footage of cameras attached to the end of Cruise missiles. But now war is no longer something read in dispatches. Also, senior whitehouse aide Tony Snow suggested more troops should or will upload to sites such as LiveLeak or YouTube. Showing their side of the story. With Mr Blair not saying anything overtly negative about LiveLeak and with Mr Snow suggesting the positive aspects, where does all this negativity come from? Why would a respected media outlet turn things around in such a manner? Could it be that certain areas of the press feel threatened by the power of people sharing information which they cannot filter? Maybe our stance of impartiality and the fact that we can show what they cannot or will not bothers them? Other agencies have embraced this technology and accepted that you, the public, can break the news, that you, the public, can provide information upon which they can draw and people can access. Our way might be under attack, but the power lies with all those members who strive to show the reality of the world and the many hundreds of thousands who log on to view it.

WESTMINSTER, S.C. - The battle over prayer in Oconee County could be heading to court. Monday morning, county council members held a workshop to review their legal options regarding prayers before meetings.

"We're not here to hurt anybody's feelings. We're trying to get along," said Councilman Frank Ables.

Since 2005 the American Civil Liberties Union has challenged the county council practice of offering prayers before meetings.

The ACLU is opposed to any form of prayer that specifically identifies a deity such as Jesus Christ or Allah taking place as part of a governmental meeting.

"Respecting the worth and dignity of every person takes precedence over blind-faith doctrines," ACLU member spokesman Michael Deanhardt, who describes himself as an atheist, said. "There are only human solutions to human problems, no supernatural solutions."

The ACLU is threatening a lawsuit if the council continues its pre-meeting prayers.

County Attorney Brad Norton said that the financial implications could be staggering.

"If get sued and you lose, the attorney fees and court costs could be up to $250,000," Norton told WYFF News 4's Kisha Foster.

The Rev. Wayne Morton said the battle is one he and others are ready to wage.

"We have doctors, other professionals and churches who have pledged $700,000 to defend this case," Morton said. "Even if we lose, we'll still have money left over. We can't just sit here and be bullied."

The Alliance Defense Fnd is also offering free legal assistance for the county.

The ADF is a nationwide group that deals with Constitutional Law.

More than 200 people showed up for the workshop in council chambers, but some had to listen to the meeting by speaker in the hallway.

The county council will announce a decision on how they'll handle the prayer issue in several weeks.

The Army said Friday it would apologize to the families of about 275 officers killed or wounded in action who were mistakenly sent letters urging them to return to active duty. The letters were sent a few days after Christmas to more than 5,100 Army officers who had recently left the service. Included were letters to about 75 officers killed in action and about 200 wounded in action. The 75 represent more than one-third of all Army officers who have died in Iraq since the war began. The Army did not say how or when the mistake was discovered. It said the database normally used for such correspondence with former officers had been "thoroughly reviewed" to remove the names of wounded or dead soldiers. "But an earlier list was used inadvertently for the December mailings," the Army statement said, adding that the Army is apologizing to those officers and families affected and "regrets any confusion."

Uses of radio frequency ID raise doubts
Critics wary of credit cards, passports; others play down privacy fears

Radio frequency identification technology is still a tough sell to a lot of people.

Massive companies and organizations that want to manage their supply chains more effectively have wholeheartedly embraced the tiny wireless computer chips. But some critics, politicians and even industry insiders say there are reasons to be concerned about bringing the tracking technology into the consumer arena.

"Privacy and security should always be a concern with any technology," said Rick Billo, associate dean of engineering research at the University of Texas at Arlington and founder of an RFID research center at the school.

Most of the objections have revolved around security and privacy concerns, and those themes are once again taking center stage in a couple of RFID applications.

The first application is in credit and debit cards, and the second is in identification documents that U.S. citizens could soon be using to cross the Mexican and Canadian borders.

The concerns are largely the same: that it's possible for thieves to surreptitiously read the data on the chips.

A few weeks ago, Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., a member of the Senate Finance Committee, issued a news release saying that RFID credit cards are not secure enough.

"If you are using a no-swipe credit card, when you put your card in your back pocket or in your pocketbook, you might as well print your credit card number across your back," Mr. Schumer said.

"Holiday shoppers need to be extremely careful with their credit cards, and these companies need to step up their efforts to protect people from identity theft."

Longtime RFID privacy critic Katherine Albrecht said that Congress should set some guidelines.

"It's about time for Capitol Hill to recognize the dangers of RFID," Ms. Albrecht, founder and director of Consumers Against Supermarket Privacy Invasion and Numbering, said in a prepared statement.

"Perhaps now members of Congress will listen to their concerned constituents and work to pass long-overdue bipartisan RFID labeling legislation, not only for credit cards but other RFID-tagged consumer items as well."

A growing number of shoppers have cards with radio frequency identification chips in the plastic, allowing the user to simply wave the card over a reader to complete a purchase. For example, there are about 11 million MasterCard cards in use worldwide with RFID chips.

That's a fraction of the roughly 1 billion MasterCard cards in use, but issuing banks are increasingly making RFID cards the default replacement cards sent to users when their old cards expire.

Banks are not required to tell cardholders that the cards have RFID chips, but experts say banks have an incentive to do so since research shows people who know they have such a card tend to spend more.

In October, researchers at the University of Massachusetts released a report claiming that most RFID cards on the market transmit signals that can easily be intercepted.

"Although RFID-enabled credit cards are widely reported to use sophisticated cryptography, our experiments found several surprising vulnerabilities in every system we examined," the researchers said.

That report generated a lot of publicity, but Art Kranzley, executive vice president and group executive of advanced payments at MasterCard Worldwide, said researchers missed the point.

Security measures

Even if a thief can scan the account number on your card with a wireless scanner, other security measures in the retailer's card reader and in MasterCard's computers prevent thieves from using that number to make a purchase, Mr. Kranzley said.

Furthermore, most thieves aren't interested in building elaborate systems to steal a single account number from someone in a store, he said. Crooks would rather hack into credit card databases and get thousands or millions of card numbers and other information.

"The fraudsters are after big volumes and big dollars," Mr. Kranzley said.

Daniel Engels, director of the RFID center at the University of Texas at Arlington, said it's a lot easier for someone to eavesdrop on a cellphone conversation being conducted over a wireless Bluetooth headset than it is to swipe wireless information off an RFID credit card.

"The Big Brother scenario never seems to bother us when it's a device we know and love and use, such as a cellphone," he said.

Even so, card makers and retailers should go out of their way to make users comfortable, Mr. Billo of UT-Arlington said. "In terms of warning labels and things like that, I think it's a good idea." He said that retailers and credit card companies need to adopt the same strategy they did the last time a new payment technology was introduced.

"There was a lot of mistrust of the bar code when it was first implemented," Mr. Billo said. "I remember when I went into stores, there was a guarantee that if they came up with the wrong number, you got the item for free."

Passport worries

The other consumer application of RFID that's getting a lot of attention right now is in PASS cards, a document proposed by the State Department that would replace passports for U.S. citizens crossing land borders.

Recently, several trade groups, as well Dallas-based Texas Instruments Inc., issued public complaints about the long-range RFID technology that the State Department is considering. The chips would let Americans wave their cards near a reader at a border crossing and then keep going.

But the groups say it would be a mistake to use the same long-range, low-security chips in the PASS card that are used for inventory tracking by companies like Wal-Mart.

"I think the government has given a lot of thought to the technology," said V.C. Kumar, manager for emerging markets in the RFID division at Texas Instruments.

"We just believe there is a better way."

TI and industry groups like the Smart Card Alliance and the Secure ID Coalition have weighed in against using the long-range chips, arguing that short-range chips with stronger security would be more appropriate.

TI makes both kinds of chips.

Mr. Kumar said a final decision from the State Department is still awhile off, and he hopes the agency will reconsider its initial proposal before it starts issuing the cards.

"I think there's still some need for education," he said. "I think there's still a need to clear up some misconceptions. But on the whole, I think the technology is going quite well."

Two-thirds of Americans believe that the FBI and other federal agencies are intruding on privacy rights as part of terrorism investigations, but they remain divided over whether such tactics are justified, according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll released yesterday.

The poll also showed that 52 percent of respondents favor congressional hearings on how the Bush administration has handled surveillance, detainees and other terrorism-related issues, compared with 45 percent who are opposed. That question was posed to half of the poll's 1,005-person random sample.

Overall, the poll -- which includes questions that have been asked since 2002 and 2003 -- showed a continued skepticism about whether the government is adequately protecting privacy rights as it conducts terrorism-related investigations.

Compared with June 2002, for example, almost twice as many respondents say the need to respect privacy outranks the need to investigate terrorist threats. That shift was first evident in polling conducted in January 2006.

That sentiment is still a minority view, however: Nearly two-thirds rank investigating threats as more important than guarding against intrusions on personal privacy, down from 79 percent in 2002.

Bruce Hoffman, a terrorism expert who is a professor in Georgetown University's Security Studies Program, said the poll results could spell trouble for the FBI and other government agencies as they continue to seek support for expanded anti-terrorism powers granted after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

"I don't think you can view these polling results in isolation from an overall phenomenon, which is that people are more skeptical of the government's conduct of the war on terrorism," Hoffman said.

Sixty-six percent of those questioned said that the FBI and other agencies are "intruding on some Americans' privacy rights" in terrorism investigations, up from 58 percent in September 2003. Thirty percent think the government is not intruding on privacy.

Support for intrusive tactics has dropped even more significantly during that time. A bare majority, 51 percent, feel the tactics are justified, down from 63 percent three years ago.

The poll was conducted by telephone from Dec. 7 through Monday, and the results have a three-percentage-point margin of error.

Police Say Man Driving Christmas Parade Float Was Drunk

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a man driving a float in the Anderson Christmas parade has been charged with drunk driving after he passed another float then sped down Main Street.

When officers caught up to 42-year-old David Allen Rodgers, he had an open container of alcohol in the truck he used to haul the children and adults on the float for a dance studio.

Witnesses say Rodgers was driving in line in Sunday's parade when he pulled out to pass a tractor in the float.

Police say Rodgers sped down Main Street and ran a red light, while a witness on the float called 911 on a cell phone.

Rodgers, whose child was on the float, faces more than three dozen charges, including DUI, kidnapping and assaulting an officer. He will have a bond hearing on the kidnapping charge later this week.

The little boy named Stevie was able to sneak away and put on his "Red Power Ranger" outfit. When he returned, he was ready to battle the bad guys.

"I was saving everybody,” Stevie said. “Yeah, I was the Red Ranger."

The thieves managed to get away with credit cards, cash and a cell phone, but Stevie’s mom believes her son saved the family from physical harm.

No one was injured in the robbery. It is unclear if Stevie will continue to use his powers for good.

POLICE in the United kingdom are considering monitoring conversations in the street using high-powered microphones attached to CCTV cameras.

The microphones can detect conversations 100 yards away.

The equipment can pick up aggressive tones on the basis of 12 factors, including decibel level, pitch and the speed at which words are spoken. Background noise is filtered out, enabling the camera to focus on specific conversations in public places.

If the aggressive behaviour continues, police can intervene before an incident escalates.

The devices are used at 300 sites in Holland already.

There are more than 4.2 million CCTV cameras, and the average person is filmed more than 300 times a day.

This Public Announcement updates the Public Announcement for Mexico alerting U.S. citizens to the mounting violence and disorder in Oaxaca City, Oaxaca, Mexico to include increased security concerns in light of recent bombings in Mexico City. At this time, U.S. citizens should continue to avoid travel to Oaxaca City due to an increase in violence there and should be alert to the increased security concerns related to protest violence throughout Mexico. This Public Announcement expires on January 18, 2007.

On October 27, 2006, an American citizen was shot and killed in Oaxaca City as a result of the violence and disorder caused by civil unrest in the city during the past several months. Several protest groups have engaged in increasingly violent demonstrations, sometimes resulting in violent reactions from other groups.

The Government of Mexico ordered the mobilization of Federal Preventive Police (PFP) to Oaxaca City to restore order to the area on Saturday, October 28, 2006. There are reports that roads within Oaxaca State, including the main highway and secondary roads linking Oaxaca City to Mexico City, may be closed or barricaded at any time, and flights may be temporarily delayed or cancelled at the Xoxocotalan International Airport. Martha Velazquez, a 30-year-old marketing specialist at a Houston health club, says she took her 1999 Pontiac Grand Am to the Wal-Mart in the 7000 block of FM 1960 to replace a flat tire she had bought there four months earlier.

"My mechanic told me it was punctured on the side and he couldn't fix it," she said.

She said the attendant at Wal-Mart told her the wait would be more than three hours, so she went shopping.

When she returned she was surprised to learn there would be no charge.

"I thought they'd adjust for the tread that had been worn," she said.

"I didn't argue. I put my groceries in the car and was approached by the mechanic who had done the job.

"He said he wanted to tell me what he did to the tire in case I had any problems," she said. "He said he put sealant in it. I told him I didn't wait four hours for sealant."

The mystery 'husband'

She spoke to the manager, who said he would replace the tire at no charge and moved her to the front of the line.

She said when it was finished the mechanic called her by name and said he could cash her out. She explained the manager said it would be free and asked her where the car was.

"He told me he gave the keys to my husband and he drove off," she said.

"He ran off. Another mechanic came over and asked how he could be so stupid that he would give it to that crackhead who had been bothering them all day,"

Hillary's huge financial advantage and her lead in the polls was of little use tonight because it was obvious that the empress has no clothes.

While Hillary gave scripted, rehearsed answers, Spencer challenged her failure to deliver on her campaign promises of 200,000 new jobs and mocked her refusal to accept blame for anything, pinning the job loss on Bush and the North Korea bomb on the State Department.

But beyond the words, there were the appearances. Hillary Clinton was a Richard Nixon look-alike tonight, wearing pancake makeup, featuring hooded eyes that never met the camera, and looking like she felt — angry at having to waste time justifying her Senate tenure in something as trivial as an election.

John Spencer may not beat Hillary, but he sure made her sweat tonight. If she wins by less than 12 points — the margin Lazio lost by in 2000 — she will have a lot of explaining to do. And John Spencer, may just be the guy to make it happen.

The intergovernmental agreements on gas cooperation give a green light to commercial negotiations between Gazprom and the Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS). "We have immediately begun talks on gas supplies from Russia to South Korea," Miller stressed. He said different gas pipeline routes were being considered. There are two options - a sea route or a land route. The value of the land route is estimated at almost $2 billion, according to Miller.

From the Register article: 'People will be told to wear radio tags round their necks when they get to the airport. The tag would notify a computer system of their identity and whereabouts. The system would then track their activities in the airport using a network of high definition cameras.
"[The tags] have got a long range, of 10m to 20m," said Dr. Paul Brennan of University College London's antennas and radar group which developed the tags, "and the system has been designed so the tag can be located to within a meter, and it can locate thousands of tags in one area at a given time."'
The system is being touted for 'Improving airport efficiency, security and passenger flow by enhanced passenger monitoring.'
BBC is also reporting this story, and brings up such hurdles to the project as 'finding a way of ensuring the tags cannot be switched between passengers or removed without notification.'

As for any mention of the 'hurdle' of people's rights, the article vaguely and briefly states that 'The issue of infringement of civil liberties will also be key,' but doesn't bother to go into any pesky details."

This Public Announcement updates information on the continuing threat of terrorist actions and violence against Americans and interests overseas. This supersedes the Worldwide Caution dated June 6, 2006 and expires on April 9, 2007.

The Department of State remains concerned about the continued threat of terrorist attacks, demonstrations and other violent actions against U.S. citizens and interests overseas. Current information suggests that al-Qa'ida and affiliated organizations continue to plan terrorist attacks against U.S. interests in multiple regions, including Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. These attacks may employ a wide variety of tactics to include assassinations, kidnappings, hijackings and bombings.

Ongoing events in Iraq and elsewhere in the Middle East have resulted in demonstrations and associated violence in several countries. Americans are reminded that demonstrations and rioting can occur with little or no warning.

In August 2006, British authorities arrested a significant number of extremists engaged in a plot to destroy multiple passenger aircraft flying from the United Kingdom to the United States. The September 2006 attack on the U.S. Embassy in Syria and the March 2006 bombing near the U.S. Consulate in Karachi, Pakistan, illustrate the continuing desire of extremists to strike American targets.

Extremists may elect to use conventional or non-conventional weapons, and target both official and private interests. A series of bombings in Thailand in May and September 2006 which targeted tourist destinations, the bombings in the Egyptian resort town of Dahab in April 2006, the bombings at a market in Palu, Indonesia in December 2005, the hotel bombings in Jordan in early November 2005 and the bombing of a crowded marketplace in New Delhi in October 2005 illustrate how terrorists exploit vulnerabilities associated with soft targets. Additional examples of such targets include high-profile sporting events, residential areas, business offices, clubs, restaurants, places of worship, schools, public areas and locales where Americans gather in large numbers, including during holidays. Financial or economic targets of value may also be considered as possible venues; the failed attack on the Abqaiq oil processing facility in Saudi Arabia in late February 2006 is one such example.

In the wake of the August 2006 plot against aircraft in London, numerous terrorist attacks on trains in India in 2006, the July 2005 London Underground bombings, and the March 2004 train attacks in Madrid, Americans are reminded of the potential for terrorists to attack public transportation systems. New Hampshire leads the way in the fight against REAL ID

Congrats are in order for the State of New Hampshire! They are the first state to stand up to the Real ID act that is soon to go into effect.
The Real ID Act became law in May with no public hearings or floor debate when it was attached to an appropriations bill for the Iraq War.

House Bill 1582
is an ACT prohibiting New Hampshire from participating in a national identification card system.
NH has determined The Real ID Act of 2005, Public Law 109-13, is contrary and repugnant to Articles 1 through 10 of the New Hampshire constitution as well as Amendments 4 though 10 of the Constitution for the United States of America.
Therefore, the state of New Hampshire shall not participate in a national identification card system.

I hope My state of South Carolina will follow suit.Unfortunately, the Republicans that I long supported have morphed into something I can no longer agree with, and I'm sure Lindsey Graham and Jim Demint are lock step with the President and are probably not going to change their minds.After all, the Senate voted 100-0 for this terrible idea.

Wisconsin State Representative Marlin Schneider, D-Wisconsin Rapids, gets has a bill going through the Wisconsin Legislature that would prohibit anyone from requiring people to have the tiny RFID chips for work purposes or whatever may be dreamed up in the future.If this bill passes, Wisconsin would be the first state to ban mandatory microchip implants.

Pastor Ervin “Butch” Paugh, a 57-year-old Nicholas County preacher who heads the group, said last week that the new driver’s licenses are unconstitutional, invade people’s privacy and conflict with Christian beliefs. He said the federal government is trying to create a “police state” with the new ID law.

“This is a total takeover by the beast system and a plan to ID everyone on the planet,” said Paugh, who has a nationally syndicated radio show called “Call to Decision.” “This will make someone a criminal if they don’t sacrifice their Christian convictions.”

The news that RFID tags can be hacked should make all of these companies, and you, take notice.This technology is being advanced far too quickly, and is a bad idea altogether.

Imagine walking up to the counter at your local Wal-Mart, and everything in your buggy has been priced wrong.Not by much, mind you, just a few pennies per item.
A hacker is sitting in the parking lot, having just completed his homemade transmitter and has hacked into the mainframe that controls the prices.

Now, those pennies are going directly into the shopping card he purchased earlier, and later when the coast is clear, he will cruise right in, with a card that now has hundreds of dollars in credit, and it's a shopping spree on you.
Of course, it could be worse.More sophisticated hackers could cripple a local economy
with a few keystrokes, or empty your bank account...or worse.

Generation One tags, used by the U.S. Department of Defense, operate in the 902-938 MHz range.These tags are used by the US military to track supplies.
Researchers have proved a denial-of-service attack on the actual tags will cause them to enter an error state, allowing someone to input incorrect prices or alter location and destination parameters.
They demonstrated that from a range of about 3 feet, they could disrupt communications between tags and readers, putting the tag into a "communication fault state."
Last month, Dutch researchers have announced they have successfully created a virus capable of infecting RFID tags.

Here's a story from a Russian website that I found interesting.Since it's from Russia, I have no qualms about posting the whole story. Sure, we will cut our missles, but you know the Russians will not!

MOSCOW. April 12 (Interfax) - The United States will reduce its strategic nuclear arsenal by 80% compared to cold war times by the year 2012, acting U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for International Security and Non-Proliferation Stephen Rademaker said at a Wednesday news conference at the Interfax office in Moscow.

Commenting on a recent article in Foreign Affairs journal claiming that U.S. nuclear potential had grown much stronger since the end of the cold war he said that "it is demonstrably untrue that the United States' nuclear forces have not grown stronger since the end of the cold war."

However, "the Moscow treaty of 2003 provides for a two-thirds reduction in the number of strategic nuclear warheads by the year 2012 in the United States and Russia," he said.

"Under the previous arms control agreement START, Russia and the United States were limited to 6,000 nuclear warheads each. Under the Moscow treaty each of the sides promised to reduce to a level of 1,700 to 2,200 by the year 2012," Rademaker said.

Scary to think of the deliberate tearing down of America and who is really behind it.

Now Master-Card holders in Australia can make small payments in over 150 stores such as 7-Eleven and Subway without supplying a signature or personal identification number for verification thanks to RFID big brother spychip technology.

Mastercard said 35,000 Commonwealth Bank customers in New South Wales would be given new credit cards with the RFID PayPass technology.

Commonwealth Bank group executive, Michael Cameron assured the Aussies of the security of PayPass.

"Rollouts of this technology in the United States and around the world have sho

Mexican Job Applications & other musings

ok...so I "find" this application at work...
We have hired alot of immigrants to wash dishes at my employer, and I have had strong suspicions about the legal status of these people for some time.
Of course we all know deep down that very few are actually here legally, but it's been hushed up for so long and now it's finally coming to a head.
I am not against mexicans working here, but they should have to speak English, pay taxes, and observe the customs accordingly.If you want to fly the Mexican flag the go back to Mexico and don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.
But anyway, this guys application was very laughable.In the education and job experience sections, all that was written was the following:

"From Mexico".

No references at all, and no answer on the question Are you legally allowed to work in the USA!

They do not want to acclimate into the American system....they don't want to pay taxes...
what is it that they do want?
They want your piece of the American Pie, and you know what? They are fast getting just that.

I hope our senate and congress gets serious and passes legislation punishing employers for hiring illegals, and BUILD A WALL!

Corporate America ! Senate ! Congress ! Mr. President !
Stop Selling America out for votes and cheap labor!
